Recipe: Dishwasher Chicken

Hey who else could bring you this stuff. Leave it to me to bring you "all the news you never wanted to know", LOL

Overall tho, this IS a definitely interesting idea. The part that ruins it for me is the chance the aluminum foil will get punctured and you will have to restart
I have seen in sears stores, they now have ovens that will keep foods cold until its time to cook and then switch over to cook mode, so why not this??
Check it out HERE

New Olympic Sport?

This is a TRUE story.  Not one of my usual satires. whether it makes it or not remains to be seen.  All i can say is after nearly 40 years of "research" into this "sport"  it definitely aint what it used to be.  years ago, anyone could have done it,  but nowadays you really hafta be in great  condition to be one of the "good ones".  Sure you will still find plenty of fakes, amateur "wannabees," but the best ones are seriously athletic.   Full Story HERE

Bishops urge 'carbon fast' for Lent

Several prominent Anglican British bishops are urging Christians to keep their carbon consumption in check this Lent.

The 40-day period of penitence before Easter typically sees observant Catholics, Anglicans, and Orthodox Christians give up meat, alcohol or chocolates.

But this year's initiative aims to convince those observing Lent to try a day without an iPod or mobile phone in a bid to reduce the use of electricity — and thus trim the amount of carbon dioxide spewed into the atmosphere.

Bishop of London Rev. Richard Chartres said that the poorest people in developing countries were the hardest hit by man-made climate change.

He said Tuesday that the "Carbon Fast" was "an opportunity to demonstrate the love of God in a practical way."

Conservatives AND Liberals UNITED????

WTH, is this even possible?  And against the Supreme Court no less.  Yup near 80% of Americans across all political ideologies are opposed to the latest Supreme Court Decision that opens the door for corporations, labor unions, and other organizations to spend money directly from their general funds to influence campaigns.
Oddly, tho 80% of ALL Americans oppose it, the decision by the court was 5-4, and split exactly along political line, with the conservatives judges favoring it and the more liberal ones opposed.

Senator John Mccain,( who might have been president had he selected a more intelligent running mate), seems quite the prophet on this one. He was one of the original sponsors of the campaign finance law struck down by Court's decision, and he predicted Americans would turn against the Court. McCain told CBS's "Face the Nation" that there would be a "backlash" once awareness grew about "the amounts of union and corporate money that's going to go into political campaigns."

Jewish groups plead to save life of convicted killer

Orthodox Jewish groups are trying to persuade Gov. Charlie Crist to spare the life of Martin Grossman, a convicted killer scheduled for execution Tuesday.
Among the 200 groups are Amnesty International, National Council of Young Israel, Agudath Israel of America, Orthodox Union, Chabad, Satmar, Rabbinical Alliance of America and the nonprofit Aleph Institute

It will be interesting to see if they get their way as usual. Florida is not known for its leniency. and Crist is supposedly a law-and-order hard-liner
Crist however has been criticized for being too "soft" in the past, and the jews do seem to have Crist "in their pocket" as he bids to again become Senator Crist.
Heck even his 2nd wife is Jewish, tho he claims to be a conservative christian.
See " Who is Charlie Crist Anyway"

Political Extremism

The politics of hate

How has this come about? The contributing factors have been accelerating and converging for years: Gerrymandered House districts. Political realignments that drive Democrats from the South and Republicans from the Northeast.

And perhaps most of all: greater mobilization by both parties' ideological wings, who punish those who dare cooperate with the other side.

House and Senate members once saw the opposition party as the adversary, but now they consider it the outright enemy, said Norman J. Ornstein, a congressional scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.

Americans "are dividing into tribes more than we did before," he said. Voters have driven virtually all liberals out of the Republican Party and all conservatives from the Democratic Party, eliminating a political dynamic that helped enact major legislation such as civil rights and Medicare in earlier decades.

Democrats Dropping Like Flies

Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., dies at 77

They are getting voted out by the public; they are getting their "tickets punched" by ........... god? .....   or other forces. but one way or the other Dems are being eliminated.

2 other possibilities:
Republicans made a deal with the devil to have him (or her, lol)  put the onus on the Dems
OR
The Dems deal with the devil has expired and now he / her is "collecting"

Tebow Super Bowl Ad

Focus on the Family Fumbled
The much anticipated Tim Tebow Super bowl ad, fell far short of a first down, much less a touchdown. Hyped as an anti abortion ad, it was more of a miscarriage.
Never once was abortion mentioned. All his mother said was "i nearly lost him many times" What??  Lost???  Are you kidding me.
The only one who scored here was CBS and the person who sold FOF on the ad.
And as i always preach, most times its better to not make a big deal out of something because then it will probably die quietly.  This is a perfect example.
Due to all the hoopla over the ad, before its release, i think FOF, got more attention before the ad ever appeared, than it will as a result of people seeing the ad.
Here it is if you havent seen it yet.

Retro - Television

A gift for my "elderly" patients :-), I present Retrovision.
Nostalgic for the good old days of TV?   Check out Retrovision and do a search for your favorite old time shows. Im not saying they have em all, but I have been lucky with some of my favorites from yesteryear like the Dead End Kids / East Side Kids / Bowery Boys, and even Petticoat Junction.

I know for sure at least one of you last i heard had no cable TV and was only getting a couple channels?  Well really who needs TV anyway anymore.  Ah the good old days, when show were more family oriented, more moral, no foul language, no sex, you remember back when the stork delivered babies, LOL.

WOT Web of Trust

I have been preaching the use of Firefox Browser for over 4 years now. Whether you have investigated my suggestion or if you are still using Internet Explorer, thats OK, I hear IE8 is quite good.
I still have a suggestion for those of you using IE tho. there is an "add on" that is worth while. it is called WOT, or Web of Trust    What it is, is a community of fellow PC users who add comments about a site and based on those comments, the site receives a color coded grade, green = good, yellow = undecided use caution, and red = a dangerous site. A site receiving no color at all is one where there just isnt yet enough 9information available to make a determination.  Is this fool proof? No it isnt, but it is one heck of a guide. The final choice of course is yours.
This is the same intention as McAfee SiteAdvisor.  maybe you already use that. If so fine with me, as i havent tried it. What i have heard but do not know for sure is that McAfee site advisor doesnt update very often. Research it yourself. WOT is always getting input. Sometimes this input could be deliberately false I guess, but the bottom line is its a guide for us, without which you are surfing blind

(HAPPY) Act H.R. 3501

The Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years (HAPPY) Act (H.R. 3501) was just introduced to the U.S. House of Representatives and referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means. The Act would amend the Internal Revenue Code to allow an individual to deduct up to $3,500 for "qualified pet care expenses" - including veterinary care - for a legally owned, domesticated, live animal.

As you, your family members or your neighbors may be trimming budgets to make ends meet, innocent animals should not have to go without adequate care! Even a small tax deduction for responsible pet owners will go a long way to meet the needs of companion animals, ease the tax burden of those who own a pet (63 percent of all households) and may even encourage more people to provide loving homes to the countless animals filling America's shelters.
