Genealogists at the New England Historic Genealogical Society said Friday that the president and the Republican senator-elect from Massachusetts are 10th cousins. Obama's mother and Brown's mother are both descendants of Richard Singletary of Haverhill, Mass., who died in 1687.

This isn't the first time genealogists have tied the president to notable Republicans. During the 2008 presidential campaign it was reported that Obama and former Vice President Dick Cheney are 8th cousins.

 dont know how they will support them tho.   And i also think most will hold out hoping the U.S. makes an offer too. say instant legal status and fast track to citizenship.
 Im NOT for a U.S. offer such as that, im just saying i wouldnt be surprised to hear of it. We have enuf economic problems of our own of our own right now without trying

Too Much Freedom of Speech

Can there be too much freedom of speech? When is it too much, if ever? Yes i know its too much freedom of speech when even i am allowed to blog endlessly about whatever drivel runs out of my warped brain, down my arms, thru my fingers and onto the keyboard. Thats obvious ;-), but other than the obvious, when, if ever is it too much information given out.

The latest example to bother me is the report that the U.S. is woefully ill prepared to deal with a Bio-terrorism attack.  If this is public knowledge, and thanks to free speech it is, then our enemies know it also. Personally i DO want this information, but i'd rather my enemies dont have it. But i cant have it both ways. i know that.
I wonder am i being naive, thinking the major enemies of the U.S. wouldnt get this information anyway thru the ever present spy network? It is after all how we get our "intelligence" (and i use the term loosely given our recent past).
So what is it do you think?  Should the general public know about EVERYTHING, thus leaving it out there for all our enemiee, or should the government lie to us, even more than they already do, thus attempting to protect us from some harm.  Lying to the public, (which pre 1960's was the norm), would protect us from the little enemies. the ones with no real knowledge or network, the ones who are nothing more than individuals or small bands of home grown disgruntled occupants inside the united states; the Timothy Mcveighs in our own backyard.  that is all we would stop by withholding information.
Just sit for a minute and think of all the things thru the years that have been exposed thru freedom of speech that YOU would rather didnt.

 let me excerpt here a sentence i found ironically funny, yet sad. The "panel" who issued the report was appointed by congress, which should at least instill confidence that we have the countries very best people empaneled, right? Well read this Intelligent summation:
The panel's "report card" warned that a major attack using weapons of mass destruction somewhere in the world was "more likely than not" to occur by 2013, unless significant steps were taken.
 My god, i have a new puppy that could have made an incongruous statement like that. Hell even G.W. Bush could have thought of this. Hmmm, actually it sounds eerily like something who would have said.
Let me make an equally broad statement, based on my years of research into meteorological phenomena. "Somewhere in the world right now, it is raining!!!"  Wow to think i could now someday be empaneled by congress to reach a major conclusion on a topic of such magnitude as our national safety, i cant wait.

Toyota suspending sales and production of eight models

Toyota Motor Corp. has taken the unprecedented step of suspending sales and production of eight models, including the top-selling Camry and Corolla, because their accelerator pedals can stick and cause runaway acceleration.

This is a bold, applaudable move in an ideal society. But in a Capitalistic one, it seems like suicide. Like vultures to a fresh carcass,  people, lawyers, and other businesses dependant upon Toyota for their livelihood will being flooding the courts with various lawsuits. This on top of the untold " ...ilions"  that Toyota will lose in sales and repairs on existing cars.
They are without doubt admitting guilt and in this society, you will get eaten alive for being so moral.
 But HIGHLY moral they are being, and i admire them for that. Perhaps originating in a country where honor is the most important trait a person can have, Toyota still has it.  Also being a highly reputable car maker with a long excellent history,  will help them thru this. They will survive i think, but they will have to kick and claw their way back to the top.

Christians for Haiti?

Ok it has been 13 days now since Haiti was devastated by an earthquake, and finally today i recieved my FIRST email acknowledging Haiti, and asking to remember them in prayer. 13 days!
Why this stands out so much for me is the fact that i receive several christian / religious themed emails a day, prolly several dozen since the haiti earthquake, yet today was the first and ONLY one mentioning haiti. why?.  I have some very religious (or so they believe), people on my email list, that routinely send me emails to pray for such n such, or this that and the other thing. But none for haiti. I am wondering why and asking my readers to offer suggestions lest i be left to jump to my own conclusions.
And thank you to the one person who did send me the email for haiti. you always had been top on my list of decent human beings.

Bible Could be 400 Years Older

An article from Live Science suggests that part of the bible could have been written in the 10 century BCE

Scientists have discovered the earliest known Hebrew writing — an inscription dating from the 10th century B.C., during the period of King David's reign.

The breakthrough could mean that portions of the Bible were written centuries earlier than previously thought. (The Bible's Old Testament is thought to have been first written down in an ancient form of Hebrew.)

Until now, many scholars have held that the Hebrew Bible originated in the 6th century B.C., because Hebrew writing was thought to stretch back no further. But the newly deciphered Hebrew text is about four centuries older, scientists announced this month.

"It indicates that the Kingdom of Israel already existed in the 10th century BCE and that at least some of the biblical texts were written hundreds of years before the dates presented in current research," said Gershon Galil, a professor of Biblical Studies at the University of Haifa in Israel, who deciphered the ancient text.

BCE stands for "before common era," and is equivalent to B.C., or before Christ.

The writing was discovered more than a year ago on a pottery shard dug up during excavations at Khirbet Qeiyafa, near Israel's Elah valley. The excavations were carried out by archaeologist Yosef Garfinkel of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. At first, scientists could not tell if the writing was Hebrew or some other local language.

Finally, Galil was able to decipher the text. He identified words particular to the Hebrew language and content specific to Hebrew culture to prove that the writing was, in fact, Hebrew.

"It uses verbs that were characteristic of Hebrew, such as asah ('did') and avad ('worked'), which were rarely used in other regional languages," Galil said. "Particular words that appear in the text, such as almanah ('widow') are specific to Hebrew and are written differently in other local languages."

The ancient text is written in ink on a trapezoid-shaped piece of pottery about 6 inches by 6.5 inches (15 cm by 16.5 cm). It appears to be a social statement about how people should treat slaves, widows and orphans. In English, it reads (by numbered line):

1' you shall not do [it], but worship the [Lord].
2' Judge the sla[ve] and the wid[ow] / Judge the orph[an]
3' [and] the stranger. [Pl]ead for the infant / plead for the po[or and]
4' the widow. Rehabilitate [the poor] at the hands of the king.
5' Protect the po[or and] the slave / [supp]ort the stranger.

The content, which has some missing letters, is similar to some Biblical scriptures, such as Isaiah 1:17, Psalms 72:3, and Exodus 23:3, but does not appear to be copied from any Biblical text.

Conservatives and Christians Exposed

Forget the facade; forget what the "cover" shows. See these people for what they really are underneath, in their hearts. And most importantly NEVER forget it.  If Obama accomplishes nothing else, he WILL  expose the conservatives and christians for what they truly are and believe in. I have NOTHING against christians, real christians.  Its the frauds and fakes that i have a problem with. You will know these imposters right away by their sefishness, their narrow mindedness.  Never mind their titles or positions of authority.  That is what they hope is all you look at. But dont fall for it. You know the old saying, "you cant tell a book by its cover".

Currently front and center with "foot in mouth" disease are Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh and televangelist Pat Robertson.
Both have recently spoken about the disaster that has occurred in Haiti, and both should be regretting their utterances. But they dont and they wont, because that is who and what they truly are.

  i had a neighbor who told me during the last presidential election, that he believed Obama was gonna win because god was gonna punish us for all the abortions.   WHAT????  Yeah he said it. Makes no sense to me tho. I mean what sense does it make allowing a pro choice into the white house as punishment for us being too pro choice,????  Hell that like punishing an irresponsible spender who files bankruptcy as often as allowable  by allowing them to win lotto. Or an obese person winning a lifetime supply of candy Or punishing a sex addict by giving them free porn all over the internet.  Oh wait they do have that already, lol.
I guess the punisjment there is that they are constantly tired from way too much ........    well whatever.

Evangelist and television commentator Pat Robertson suggested Wednesday that the Haiti earthquake may have been a direct consequence of a "Satanic pact."

He even questioned whether Tuesday's quake - which is thought to have killed up to 100,000 people - may have been a "blessing in disguise", MyFox National reported.

"Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it," Robertson said during a broadcast of The 700 Club on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

"They (Haitians) were under the heel of the French ... and they got together and swore a pact to the devil.

"They said 'We will serve you' ... and so, the devil said 'Okay, it's a deal' and kicked the French out."

This is a site i go to every day when im home, ( internet access). i dont usually take them up on their freebie of the day. most of their offers are from newcomers / foreign companies etc. that are using the site to "test" their software on
 i usually use the site to scour the comments looking for "freeware" alternatives that are in most cases excellent.

 ok having said that. here is a software that is free for today only and gets super rave reviews. it was also given away previously with the same high Reviews

 Thats for you to decide AFTER  checking out the reviews for yourself. dont cut corners. READ everything, and then make an educated decision.  i advise this because i have read everything and there are some functions of this software that for the novice, could cause problems IF you delete or accept other suggestions without further investigation.

Abortion / Health care solution

So simple really.  In most cases abortion is an "Elective" procedure and therefore not eligible (or should not be eligible) for insurance funding
 NO elective procedure should be paid for by any insurance.
I know I certainly dont want some of my premiums going to pay for someones Botox, Breast implants, Hair transplants, face lifts, tucks etc.

I mean on the one hand there are traditions we all hold dear. And as time passes, we have seen some of them pass away, much to our chagrin. On the other hand, America, is "supposedly" the melting pot, you know .... send us your weary etc. etc. blah, blah, blah .....  so if thats your American belief, then accomodating 2010's "American" "look" by adding this "new" holiday is quite appropriate. decide for yourself. Either way it doesnt matter much, for America will continue to change whether you like it or not
