Donate to Charity Through "Click-Giving"

In trying to stay "positive" from now through "the holidays" (yes that includes christmas, hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Saturnalia, (the winter solstice festival), & any others I may have missed that fall on or around Dec. 25th). I have researched Charitable contributions we can all make that require not much more than your doing now. I'll call it "click-giving," something that all us computer users do routinely.
In order to make a charitable contibution all you need do is Search using "GoodSearch.com," or search using "givesmart.com, and use a "sponsor," or visit a website and click the "donation" button.
Won't you help someone, something or someplace today?

SITES THAT FEATURE "CLICK TO DONATE" BUTTONS

  • Fight hunger: Donates to hunger relief efforts in regions around the world. Charities currently benefiting from your clicks: the Mercy Corps and America's Second Harvest. In November 2005, 3.6 million clicks helped buy 516,232 pounds of food.

  • Fund a free mammogram: Funds mammograms provided for free to low-income, inner-city and minority women by the National Breast Cancer Foundation. In November 2005, the site received 5.8 million clicks, generating 183 free mammograms.

  • Improve children's health care: Direct funds to charities that work to improve children's quality of life and health care, including Mercy Corps, the Prosthetics Outreach Foundation, Helen Keller International and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Clicks in November 2005 helped generate donations to help 41,026 children.

  • Buy books for kids: Generates money for First Book, which donates books to children in low-income families. In November 2005, 2.2 million clicks generated revenue to buy 30,145 books.

  • Save the rainforest: Funds raised by the site are directed to The Nature Conservancy, The Rainforest Conservation Fund, the World Parks Endowment and The Friends of Calakmul. In November 2005, 2.3 million clicks helped save 622 acres of rainforest.

  • Save an animal: Provides food for animal shelter sites in the U.S. through the North Shore Animal League America or one of the Fund for Animals animal care facilities in Texas, Southern California and South Carolina. In November 2005, 4.1 million clicks helped buy 1.2 million pounds of food for animals.

  • Care for the environment: Click on each of 10 different causes to help charities like the Nature Conservancy, Oceana and the Wild Conservation Society. Donations are tracked separately for each charitable cause and listed online on a daily basis.
  • How it works: Each time you click on any of the web sites listed below, a donation is made to the specific charity that works for the cause. Note that you only need to click on the designated "donate" buttons on these pages in order for the donations to be made, not the banner ads. Advertisers pay money to these web sites only to have their ads displayed, regardless of how many users actually click on them.
